Christmas

My excuses for just now posting pictures of Christmas morning are as follows:

A) Jeddy and Maddie got engaged, thereby joyously overshadowing Christmas,

B) We left the country for a week over New Year’s to do decidedly un-Christmassy things (more on that to follow), which made it feel like Christmas hadn’t finished happening yet when we got back in January, leading to 

C) I’m still secretly listening to Christmas music when I’m alone in the car, because if my Christmas decorations are still up, if only because I haven’t gotten around to taking them down even though it’ll soon be closer to Valentine’s Day than Christmas Day, then it’s still Christmas time.

Ada inadvertently bought herself these pj’s at Walmart at the same time she bought wrapping paper in the same exact color and pattern, so when she held a present so wrapped, it was perfectly camouflaged.

Lizzy’s one big gift of the year, from everybody: a Nikon P950 superzoom.

It’s a favorite of birders, and I can see why. It is a-ma-zing.

She immediately tried it out on the birds at the feeder, with fantastic results:
