We did indeed finish school a day earlier than planned, and since then I’ve been terribly busy reading all the books, doing all the puzzles, and generally putting my feet up.

I made strawberry jam until I ran out of strawberries, so the extra pectin and jelly jars have been sitting on my counter in a holding pattern until I gather the motivation to restart the whole process.

I emailed the new batch of summer Sunday school teachers with the rundown of all they need to know. I spent one whole day working at the church office cataloguing supplies for VBS.

Jeddy spent hours and hours one day (at Maddie’s behest) cleaning out the stuff he still had here at our house. I was astonished how much it was, honestly. Then a week later he showed up with a friend and robbed us of some couches.

Unfortunately in that it was a federal holiday yesterday, I’ve done all the puzzles and read all the books I have (most recently Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Journey by Alfred Lansing [excellent!] and The Singer’s Gun by Emily St. John Mandel). So I may take another walk to the library today to restock—after I force myself to finish that jam.
