Less squish

May started out as squishy as last year, but I feel tons better now that I’ve gotten next year’s school plans in place, after several days of working on it for hours on end.

It helps that I don’t have anyone graduating this year, and the girls aren’t doing spring sports.

Caleb had his last soccer game and there’s no tournament; we have six school days left and it looks like we’re gonna make it; summer Sunday school recruiting is actually humming along smoothly.

The weather is beautiful and we’ve been enjoying using Jason’s new One Fire Ring.

My husband and children spoiled me no end on Mother’s Day, having me snuggle with a fuzzy blanket on the couch while they made my favorite brunch—biscuits and omelets. Then they gave me sweet cards and a certificate for a romantic dinner cruise for when we go to the beach this summer.

Jason made this collage for the tv, telling the story of my motherhood. I gazed at it from under my fuzzy blanket while they made me brunch and thought how very, very blessed I am.

Columns from left to right: baby Jeddy, baby Ada, baby Lizzy, baby Caleb, first day of school when they’re little, first day of school when they’re big, Jed’s graduation, soon-to-be daughter-in-law.
