It’s a long way from Nassau to the Yucatán, so the day of travel was Star Wars Day at Sea.
Taking advantage of the lack of 8am port calls, I went jogging on the track around deck 4, where I encountered patrolling Storm Troopers several times. Then I grabbed the girls from breakfast and took them to the Edge open house—the tween club for ages 11-14 which we hadn’t yet seen. Lizzy decided she’d like to spend time there, but I decided I was ready for a big breakfast at Cabanas.
We rendezvoused on the pool deck, and while the kids went off to kids’ club and afterwards played mini golf, Jason and I rode the Aqua Duck and hung out at a bar in the adults-only area, sharing a margarita flight and the Star-Wars-themed Galaxy in a Glass.
Back on the main deck, I bought Jason a beer in a Darth Vader head and I ate ice cream and watched Star Wars “making of” clips on the giant screen while the kids played in the pool and slides. We visited the adults-only hot tub but it was about 110 degrees so that didn’t last long. Two different groups of teenagers came up to Jason and politely asked for a selfie with them to fulfill the item on their scavenger hunt “picture of someone dressed like a Wookiee.”
When it started raining it seemed like a good time to get ready for dinner, fully decked out in costume. There were the usual piles of fabulous food, Star-Wars-themed, of course, and the usual chaos getting the kids to kids club before we had finished dinner, all made the more exciting by the noticeable rocking of the ship.

Jeddy and Ada and I convinced Jason that he could win Star Wars quotes trivia in one of the lounges after dinner.
Alas, although we made a decent showing, the quotes were from ALL the movies, not just the original three, so Jason didn’t clean up as much as he would’ve otherwise.
Anyway, the main event was fireworks and a dance party on the upper deck later, which we made sure to collect the kids for.
