December: reading, dancing, music, and falling in love

The older kids spent the first weekend of December at Nana's house, leaving the younger two home with us.  We spent the time Friday night reading aloud The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe while they ate chocolate Christmas lollipops.

They didn't suffer too much.

The end of the semester brings recitals.  Lizzy danced very prettily in her ballet presentation.

The next week we all went out to dinner and got cookie skillets.  Jason captured the moment we girls fell in love with our first bites.

Lizzy is also enamored with Buck, whom we've now had for one year, but her love has not cooled.

I don't know what led to this, but I came down to breakfast one morning to find this on the fridge--in Jeddy's handwriting, except for the signature, which appears valid.

Recital #2 was Ada's, at the mall this year.

I was impressed by her poise in the midst of mall chaos and noise.  It was a lovely way to observe the season, from the littlest ones plunking out "Jingle Bells" to the oldest ones showcasing their talent with rich seasonal harmony.
